"Hi, my name is Gareth (aka 'Harry') Tansey, Alisha's Dad. I'm also now proud to say I'm Emma's dad too, since July 14th this year. On 1st November 2003, I'm undertaking what for me is a serious challenge: a sponsored Firewalk to raise money for The Jennifer Trust for SMA in memory of our fantastic little girl."

Alisha with Dad
The event is organised by BLAZE on behalf of the trust. "The bad news for me is that in order to raise this money, I have to walk over blazing hot coals bare foot. I thought my last BBQ was pretty hot, but this is taking the biscuit - according to my "tempter" leaflet, the average fire temperature is 1236 °Fahrenheit, or 669 °Celcius."
The event takes place at the Ettington Chase Conference Centre, Ettington, near Stratford upon Avon in Warwicksire, coinciding with the JTSMA's Annual Conference.
Before completing the actual walk, there is 2 hours of training to prepare mind, body & soul for this life-changing event. "At this moment in time, I'm told it's perfectly possible but I can't quite see how. I'm certainly not prepared right now, so I hope the session works!"
"Whilst this is certainly going to be a unique experience, I'm not doing it for the fun(?) of it. Please help by giving me a really good reason to go through with it by pledging your sponsorship. To make a pledge, please complete the form below [NOTE: form now removed from web site] and I will add your details to my sponsorship form."
If you'd like any more information, or could help raise sponsorship by circulating a sponsor form around your friends/family/workplace, please see our contact page for details of how to get in touch.
Thank you in anticipation of your support,
Gareth, Carol and Emma Tansey
